Abstract

So far, no inorganic membranes are used in technical gas separation. Three types of inorganic membranes are near to a commercialization: Pd-based membranes in H2 separation, perovskite-type membranes in O2 separation, and zeolite membranes. First LTA membranes are used in semi-technical de-hydrations of ethanol and propanol. However, for shape selective separation types MFI and DDR are promising candidates and recent R&D is highlighted.
