Abstract
The Frequency Response Analysis (FRA) is used for the assessment of transformer windings as a complementary method. It is widely standardized. Mechanical displacements of the winding can thus be detected. The graphical interpretation of the measurements is defined in recommendations, but an evaluation is very difficult especially when there are only minor defects in the winding. Therefore, new methods must be developed with improved sensitivity. The proposed method simplifies first the FRA and tried to have approaches that an identification of parameters of the equivalent circuit can provide an indication of changes in the winding structure.
