Abstract

The interaction of vortices in a two-component Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) was discussed. The case in which one vortex was created in each component was considered. Results indicated that in a single-component BEC, vortices with the same circulation repel each other in the presence of dissipation. This suggested the possibility of creation of stable vortices with more than one quantum of circulation.
