Abstract
This paper presents the BER performance analyses of a virtual MIMO half-duplex relay system on a WiMAX OFDMA network with Alamouti coding. For such a condition where multi-antenna relay is not an option, employing multiple single-antenna relays in the system would be an alternative to still benefit the diversity gain. The impact of increasing the number of relay nodes to the system performance is also investigated. Furthermore, the performance comparison of Amplify-and-Forward (AF) and Decode-and-Forward (DF) relaying strategies applied on the system is also presented.
