Abstract

Increasing competition urges companies to improve their processes and organizational structure in order to maintain or even enhance its competitive position. Especially an efficient and sustainable usage of resources, such as energy and materials, offers quite some startingpoints when it comes to influencing ones competitive position posi-tively. This article presents some illustrative methods on how resource efficiency can be achieved and integrated in ongoing processes within the production plant.
