Abstract
At least 60 to 80 percent of the shell construction of multi-storey buildings consists of space-enclosing floors. Therefore integrated and multifunctional composite floor systems offer par-ticularly enormous potential for the realization of sustainable and modern multi-storey buildings. In this context ecological and economical aspects play a decisive role as well as the guarantee of a flexible and adaptable utilization of buildings. Those requirements result at the component level in a holistic integration of the energy and building technology within the composite floor system. Besides the physical requirements and the requirements concerning the building technology, also fire safety requirements have to be fulfilled. In this paper, the fire resistance of the composite floor system is examined and evaluated by experimental and numerical investigations. Besides being exposed to a fire from below, the multifunctional floor system is investigated under a fire scenario, which is induced by a cable fire within the ceiling void.
