Abstract

The thermal oxidative aging behavior of diene-rubbers was investigated using the chemiluminescence (CL) method. The kinetic measurements of the aging reaction on uncured and cured NR justify a pre-aging effect caused by processing. The OIT values are correlat-ing well with mechanical data during aging. Furthermore the protection effect of p-phenylene diamines related to their structure as antioxidants in BR was investigated. The degradation of 6PPD during moreover evalu-ated by CL and GC-MS.
