Abstract
Nuclear spin-lattice relaxation measurements were carried out on neutron activated 116In nuclei in InP single crystals in a temperature range 20 K ≤ T ≤ 80 K. Comparing the measured relaxation rates with the corresponding rates of stable 115In in the same crystal, the ratio of the quadrupole moments was found to be |Q(116In) Q(115In)|=0.13(1). This result compares more favourably with a prediction using the unified model than with a shell-model calculation.
