Abstract

Some mathematical aspects of the description of gas-surface interaction by means of scattering kernels are dealt with. The equilibrium condition for scattering is derived from the entropy principle and the theory of doubly stochastic operators is used. The calculation of internal free-molecular flows is considered as a fixed-point problem.
