Abstract
Failures in manufacturing reduce logistic performance. Therefore, a practical system for the identification and the logistics-oriented risk assessment of failures is developed in the research project "Sustainable failure management in manufacturing SMEs". By making a link to measures for the removal of failure and employee competences, SMEs will be able to anchor a sustainable failure management and consequently, to improve their logistic performance.
