Abstract
A system for interactive grid-based name placement is presented. SCRIBO combines cartographic needs like placement on optionally enriched straight lines or on circles and variation of size, colour, width, inclination and distance of letters with a method of interactive correction. Letter placement can be performed either in binary or in continuous tone mode. -from English summary
