Abstract

The significance of robust high-performance concretes for the construction site and the factory is discussed. Regarding the robustness of SCC, the selection of constituent materials of good mutual compatibility is one of the prerequisites for a economical concrete mix design. Increase in robustness by measures like raising the fines content, adjusting the plasticizer/water ratio and adding stabilizers is possible in SCC. The workability of SCC in the factory or at the construction site changes with the change in robustness.
