Abstract
Soft robots consist of a soft actuator, which is characterized by its highly elastic deformability, and a corresponding sensor system for position determination. Conventional strain gauges are manufactured on a carrier substrate and can, however, only map strains of up to a maximum of 10 %. This work therefore investigates the substrate-free application of biphasic strain gauges on flexible materials used in soft robotics and their positioning.
