Abstract
Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) of Rb87 atoms in the regime of phase-fluctuating condensates were systematically studied. Phase fluctuations were observed by measuring the density distribution of the released cloud after ballistic expansion. Continuous transition from the usual 3D regime was clarified. The appearance of stripes after switching off the trapping fields was due to the conversion of phase fluctuations respect.
