Abstract
Fur isolation of vibration and noise the units of mechanical systems are attached to the surroundings by means of resilient mountings. For a given system configuration the stiffnesses and dampings as characteristics of these mounting elements may be varied between fixed limits. In this way the degree of isolation of the entire system can be influenced. In the paper a method for optimization of mounting characteristics is presented. A mechanical model valid for arbitrary aggregate systems and a corresponding efficient algorithm are considered. The potential of the optimization method is shown by a conventional automobil driveline mounting.
