Abstract
The latest developments in hypoplasticity allow for a investigation of scale effects resulting from the pressure level. The following paper treats the earth pressure problem of rigid walls in sand for different modes of movement, heights and densities. The analysis encloses both active and passive states. The influence of pressure level on the displacements is described by simple correction factors. The results are compared with proposals in the literature and in German Standards.
