Abstract

By use of a completely nonlinear Finite Element Approach the stress of wheel and raildue to the rolling contact is analyzed. Two different wheels and different contact-constellations have been studied. The influence of the non-linearities is shown clearly. These numerical results can serve as a basis for the material-scientific and tribological judgement of damage and wear.
