Abstract
The behaviour of cylindrical bars under impact loads has been investigated. For this purpose a finite element formulation was derived for an elasto-viscoplastic model and finite strains. With this element we were able to simulate the experiments of Taylor numerically on the basis of an elasto-viscoplastic material model.
