Abstract
This paper deals with the design of grouted joint connections of monopile support structures for offshore wind energy converters. Large scale tests performed within a research project are described and analysed. The paper focuses on the dynamic behaviour of the structure. Appropriate finite element modelling is shortly discussed. Finally a method for the consideration of nonlinear effects in the modal analysis of the structure is presented. A parametric equation is derived which allows a fast estimation of the influences of the grouted connection's nonlinear bearing behaviour.
