Abstract
New forming processes are aiming for increase of robustness and shortening of the process chain. Within the development of the novel process class sheet-bulk metal forming (SBMF) in the transregional collaborative research centre (Transregio) 73 an overcoming of current process limitations is pursued by merging conventional sheet and bulk metal forming. To ensure a structured and aimoriented development of SBMF a method-supported reference approach was designed and successfully applied in different development areas.
