Abstract
In the manufacturing of aerospace structural components distortions related to residual stress can occur despite proper machining. If these distortions cannot be corrected by a straightening process, the part cannot be assembled. This paper presents methods which allow the determination of the component distortion prior to machining. This allows an adjustment of the production, so that the manufactured part shows no distortion.
