Abstract

Resource efficiency is strongly connected with sustainability. Sustainability in companies means a long term protection of the ecological value under consideration of social requirements. The goal of sustainable companies is to gain profit in a long term perspective by focusing on their ecological and social responsibility. A precondition is a general change in the way of thinking. The management has to agree to a resource efficient use of production resources. This article describes an approach supporting this goal by specifying a way how to introduce the topic on the shop-floor level.
