Abstract
In this article the allocation diagram developed at the Institute of Production Systems and Logistics (IFA) of the University of Hannover is introduced as a model that analyses and visualises the logistic coordination of manufacturing and assembly processes. Based on this model unplanned work in process (WIP)-buffers and resulting due date deviations can be shown and logistic improvement measures can be derived and described.
