Abstract
This paper is going to show the derivation and applications of the theory of logistic operating curves for one-piece flow processes which were developed at the Institute of Production Systems and Logistics (IFA) at the University of Hanover. These curves describe the functional relationship between the logistic performance measures machine utilisation, throughput time and schedule reliability depending on the mean WIP level of a single production system. The logistic operating curves for one-piece flow processes complete the theory of the logistic operating curves and enhance the integrated logistic objective trade-off of single lot-wise flow processes to one-piece flow processes.
