Abstract

This paper introduces LES model verification for heat and mass transport in Induction Channel Furnace (ICF) and its comparison with two-equation turbulence models. LES Simulation results show very good accordance with experimental data including both flow structure and temperature distribution in the melt. Transit flow velocity in the channel is also estimated.
