Abstract
The EURO soils stored at constant low temperature at the Ispra Joint Research Center of the EC Commission after analysis and sterilization are a primary representative source of reference material. They facilitate sorption testing of chemicals throughout the EC and also standardization of analysis data for the various EC member countries. The homogeneity of the soil samples is an aid to harmonization of testing and to international quality control. -R.Hardbottle
