Abstract
questioning the processes of assimilation, generation of democracy, and the construction
of differentiated citizenship since the process of national Independence. Subsequently,
the paper focuses on the consolidation of the National State in Chile, the homogenizing
elements that shape this process, and the effects specifically related to the indigenous
population. A short analysis is made of the elements of Chilean constitutionalism linked to
indigenous peoples and the relationship between States and subaltern groups. Afterwards,
it analyzes the dictatorship process and the construction of the 1980 Constitution as a
fundamental element for the consolidation of the neoliberal State. Finally, a panorama is
presented about the social manifestations of 2019 and the political opening to the cons-
truction of a constitutional process, ending with the future prospects of this process and
the relationships and implications for the rest of the Latin American States
