Abstract

This paper explains the integration of a 3D camera system into the fork-tips of a forklift truck. The cameras and the processed 3D images are used to create a driver assistance system to guide the forklift truck driver to the optimal position in front of a pallet or a storage place. The paper describes the developed hardware, the integration into the forklift truck and the image processing algorithm.
