Abstract
journal for philosophy of science to stand alongside the then-dominant American Philosophy of Science and British Journal for the Philosophy of Science. Dorato and Hoefer had outstanding success, rapidly building EJPS into a leading academic jour- nal during the eight years of their editorship. By 2016, EJPS generated over 37.000 downloads, had 159 of its publications discussed through social media platforms and
a 5-years Impact Factor of 1,076. Following an open call, Phyllis Illari and Federica Russo were appointed by the
EPSA steering committee as the next editors-in-chief (EiC) from 2017 to 2021. Their vision for the journal, enthusiastically supported both by EPSA and by Dorato and
Hoefer in their handover, was to diversify EJPS further and make it reflect even more strongly the vibrant and diverse field of philosophy of science as it is represented in Europe.
