Abstract
Starting with a short description of the former recommendations in the field of high voltage testing and measuring techniques the actual changes in the recently published recommendations are described. The time to peak of switching impulses and the front time evaluation of lightning impulses are the most important changes in the field of high voltage testing. The main changes in the high voltage measuring technique are the use of digital recorders and the related evaluation software and its performance check. Finally the new recommendation regarding high current test techniques will be shortly explained.
