Abstract
Grouted joints in Monopile substructures are exposed to high cyclic loading conditions. During maintenance work, vertical settlements in grouted joints with plain steel surfaces have been detected. It became apparent that applied design methods did not represent properly the physical behavior of the connections. Based on theoretical and experimental investigations, this paper presents discovered reasons and discusses the design driving parameters.
