Abstract
A discussion on the design situation of grouted connections for offshore wind turbines covers the current state-of-the-art design and the current state of research; the ongoing research project Grouted Structures for Offshore Wind turbines that will provide useful information in the near future; the status of the preparative work and intermediate results; comparison of four large-scale bending tests of grouted connections with different grout materials and reduced overlap lengths to the current state-of-the-art; and detailed information about the bearing capacity of grouted connections against extreme as well as fatigue loads. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the Eighteenth International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference (Vancouver, Canada 7/6-11/2008).
