Abstract
The collaborative NASA/ESA laser interferometer space antenna (LISA) space mission to search the elusive gravitational wave and massive black holes is discussed. It is observed that gravitational waves are fundamentally different from the familiar electromagnetic waves and are created by the acceleration of masses and gravitational are waves of the spacetime fabric itself. The main difficulty in proposed mission is to make test masses follow, a geodisic, near perfect free fall trajectory, by employing a so called drag-free systems. It was observed that space based gravitational waves detector, LISA is an extremely ambitious programme that has potential to open a radical new window on astronomy.
