Abstract
The exfoliated graphene nanoplatelets (xGnPs) are a new class 3-d carbon based layered nanofillers containing stacks of graphene sheets. Four commercially available carbon based nanofillers xGnPs of type xg C750, xg M5 and UF1 C98 and additional carbon black (CB) N339 with nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR 3945) as rubber matrix were used. The rubber nanocomposites were prepared by melt mixing. The objective of the work was to rationalize the characteristic properties of graphene based rubber nanocomposites such as filler dispersion index, hardness, number of graphene layers per stack, rheometric curves, tensile strength, multi-hysteresis stress-strain, dynamicmechanical, dielectric behavior and barrier properties.
