Abstract
Fast access to information can give companies a decisive competitive advantage, key preconditions being standardized access to corporate knowledge and the networking of information. Within the framework of the "KnowWork" project a domain model has been developed which enables the recording and networking of information. Against this background this article introduces components for searching out information and for navigation as well as for the semi-automatic generating of meta data. Given that a common interface for all applications and user groups is impracticable the suggestion is put forward that various applications should be loaded onto this generic core.
