Abstract
In this article the authors attempt to explain how different interpretations can be made of short scenes involving teachers and pupils in the framework of teacher training. Starting from an example giving rise to diverse interpretations ('When are you going to give us back our test papers?') the authors consider the aim and the possible meaning of introducing research practice in teacher training for those who do not wish to become professional researchers but only secondary school teachers.
