Abstract

Energy Efficient Recycling of Titanium Chips. A new process chain enables the direct recycling of titanium chips for additive manufacturing. The process chain offers potential for improving environmental sustainability in the additive manufacturing of titanium components. Significant resource savings are possible compared to the use of primary titanium powder. In addition, the recycling of chips into powder for additive manufacturing can be a resource-saving alternative to recycling into solid material.
