Abstract
The production of aircraft components made of titanium is subject to high competitive pressure. In this context are the manufacturing processes primarily in terms of monetary aspects optimized while environmental aspects are considered less. Therefore, titanium chips cannot be reused under economically justifiable expense for new aircraft components due to process-related impurities. To make this possible the Leibniz Universität of Hannover developed a new approach.
