Abstract
In aerospace and automobile industry, fibre reinforced plastics are commonly used to reduce the energy consumption of vehicles and airplanes by means of lightweight construction. Functional surfaces on parts made of fibre reinforced plastics need to be machined by milling operations, which increases production costs per piece. Thus, a new cost-efficient machine tool has been developed with a built-in extraction and a high degree of automation.
