Abstract
Increasing interconnectedness and complexity of production processes raise its susceptibility to failure. Therefore, the ability to quickly respond to failures is increasingly becoming a competitive factor. In the research project "Sustainable Failure Management in Manufacturing SMEs", a methodology for identifying failures and for selecting preventive as well as reactive measures to correct failure and to establish a sustainable failure management, is developed.
