Abstract
It is particularly in the area of customer-specific production that short delivery periods presuppose fast processing times. However, in spite of the important role fast processing times play in a company's success, the majority of enterprises neither make full use of the existing potential for reducing processing times, nor are they capable of creating additional potential with the smallest possible outlay.
