Abstract
Industrial trucks are exposed to special stresses because of their conditions of use and constructive characteristics. These electrical, mechanical and thermal stresses differ significantly from those of other vehicles such as cars or construction machines. In order to develop a design and dimensioning guideline for electronic components which are installed into industrial trucks, the acting stresses were recorded on selected components on a reach truck and evaluated extensively. In various test bench investigations the measured stresses were simulated under laboratory conditions, to get more details about the behavior of electronic components and failure characteristics, such as the relationship between stress level and frequency of stress until failure.
