Abstract
This article presents the development of a traction system with a diesel engine for shunting work used for two axle freight wagons. The traction system is one of the main parts of an innovativ conception for individual-wagons. A diesel engine for the traction accelerates the freight wagon to a maximum speed of 40 km/h. The two axle freight wagon is a sliding wall wagon with the marking Hbis-tt293. It was the object of this project to develop a realisable and cost-efficient concept. The effort to change an existing freight wagon should be shmall. To decrease the costs it was asked to fall back on existing components on the market.
