Abstract

A system model, entitled 'Soil-water balance and fluxes of potentially toxic substances' is presented to discuss some problems related to the assessment of the behaviour of the chemicals in soils. Because of its extraordinary importance special attention should be paid to the soil-water balance. The flux diagram can be used for predicting the behaviour of environmental chemicals within the ecosystem compartments if a minimum set of data on both the chemical and the geo-scientific boundary conditions are available. -from English summary
