Abstract

Characterization of signal processing systems is often done by identifying the system parameters of the transfer function. In this contribution, this characterizing method is used to identify system parameters of building materials. The shielding effectiveness of the building materials are results of a study and were measured previously. The system parameters are applied in an analytical model. A graphical user interface (GUI) has been programmed to ease the handling. That GUI allows the input of the electromagnetic properties and gets the shielding effectiveness as an output. In a first approach some electrically sim pIe materials are taken into account and the resulting transfer functions show a proportional or a differential behavior.
