Abstract
This paper deals with the design of grouted joint connections of monopile support structures for offshore wind energy converters. Large scale tests performed in an ongoing research project are described and analyzed. The tests as well as the presented paper focus on the fatigue assessment of the structure. Appropriate finite element modeling is shortly discussed. Finally a method for the fatigue design of both the steel and the concrete part of the connection is proposed and the results are compared to the large scale tests.
