Abstract

For many applications in engineering positioning-systems that are compact, powerful as well as stiff are required. Conventional systems do not meet these requirements. The objective of this investigation is to develop a new servo-hydraulic positioning system that meets these requirements. A suitable concept is presented and analyzed. The key element of the system is the valve technology that is investigated by means of computational fluid dynamics-calculations of the flow and its geometric and hydrodynamic characteristics. Based on these investigations, steps for optimization are developed.
