Abstract

This paper present a study of transport process of t butylbenzene through unfilled and filled HNBR elastomers. The influence of saturation, content of acrylo-nitrile, crosslink density and filler type on the diffusion coefficient and permeation coefficient was investigated by a two-chamber GC method and an ATR-FT-IR spectroscopic method, both with high sensibility, precision and selectivity. The effectiveness to reduce permeability was investigated for carbon black, silica, untreated Bentonite and micro glass flakes.
