Abstract
Transformers belong to the most valuable equipment within the electrical energy supply. It is therefore of fundamental interest for transformer operators to estimate the remaining life time of these apparatus. The average degree of depolarisation (DP value) is used as a measure of ageing, which must, however, be obtained from a paper sample. As these are not accessible during operation, the DP value is often determined using furan derivatives. However, investigations show partly strong deviations from the actual DP values. In this paper, the results of the DP value estimation using a new fuzzy algorithm are therefore presented in comparison to the actual DP values.
