Abstract
In the present paper special emphasis is put on the modelling of catenary-pantograph systems in order to achieve a realistic prediction of their dynamic behaviour at high speeds. Various models are introduced to describe the overhead equipment and the pantograph. Simulation results are used to evaluate the benefits of the modelling improvements.
